The Volta Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA–Volta) has unveiled members of the committees for the 4th Regional Media Awards.
The awards, slated for Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Ho, will be held under the theme “Harnessing the Tourism Potentials of Ghana into the Future – Positioning the Volta Region as the New Frontier.”
At the launch on Thursday, September 3, 2026, Regional Chairman Dr Harrison Kofi Belley announced a three-member Awards Vetting Committee and an eight-member Planning Committee tasked with ensuring a credible awards process that reflects the Association’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and ethical standards in journalism across the region.

The Awards Vetting Committee is chaired by Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, former Regional Chairman and Coordinator for Medical Tourism at Ho Teaching Hospital, with veteran broadcaster Kwame Senyo and 2019 Journalist of the Year Benjamin K. Aklama as members.
The Planning Committee, chaired by Hubert Mawuli Yevu-Agbi, a former Acting Regional Secretary and a Senior University Administrator, includes Lambert Atsivor-Regional Secretary, Elorm Yao Aryee-Administrator, KingFreeman Nutsukpoe-Treasurer, Charles Suglo of Hilz FM, Yvonne Harlley Kanyi of the Information Services Department, former Vice Chairman Kafui Gati, and Sumaya Saeed Salifu, journalist cum University Administrator.

Mr Kafui Kanyi assured that the Vetting Committee will uphold fairness and transparency in assessing entries, while Mr Yevu-Agbi pledged that the Planning Committee will deliver a well-organised and memorable event, befitting of the Association’s reputation, as he called for the support of all stakeholders to make the awards a landmark celebration of journalistic excellence in the Volta Region.
