Three persons are in the grips of the Volta Regional Police Command for allegedly killing, and attempting to sell the body of a 30-year old man, Albert Anyinado at Agavedzi in the Ketu South Municipality.
The suspects-Kalefe Korku age 42, Afedo Kpotor age 21 and Ametoke Sitsofe age 27, according to police were arrested Sunday from their hide out upon a tip off.
Narrating the facts of incident, Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, DSP Effia Tenge, said the three suspects informed a fetish priest of Agbozume that they had a dead body they were offering for sale so he should assist them to get a buyer. The police was informed where they feigned interest in the deal and negotiated to buy the dead body at GHS 7000.00.
According to her, the buyer agreed to meet the suspect at Agavedzi near the lagoon to receive the dead body, but suspects upon sighting the police abandoned the dead body and bolted.
Police however pursued and arrested the three suspects in their various houses at Agavedzi, Agbozume and Adina.
The body victims has since been deposited at Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy, while the suspects are in custody, assisting with investigations.
