Breaking: ‘Western Togoland’ Leader, Papavi Hogbedetor Dies

Report reaching Volta Online indicates that, the founder and leader of secessionist movement, the Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) has passed on.

The 87-year old Charles Kormi Kudjordji, alias Papavi Hogbedetor was reported to have died Friday night at the St. Paul’s hospital in the Akatsi South Municipality, where he has been on admission.

Papavi has been at forefront of a separatist campaign to get the Volta region and other parts of North-Eastern part Ghana seceded into an independent Western Togoland state.

He was recently arrested and arraigned in connection with a supposed independence declaration sometime in October, 2019.
